I. Work of Cittaslow National Coordinating Committee of China
1. Consolidating and strengthening international exchanges. First, participate in important international Cittaslow meetings. We organised China Cittaslow to participate in online and offline meetings, such as the 2023 International Cittaslow Annual Assembly and the 2023 Autumn Coordination Meeting, etc., and took the initiative to promote the innovative work of China Cittaslow and Cittaslow candidate areas to CI HQ. Second, actively report the situation of China Cittaslow. Report to CI HQ in a timely manner on the special work of China Cittaslow and the progress of Cittaslow projects, and urge China Cittaslow to continue to carry forward and pass on the spirit of Cittaslow.
2. Coordinate the affairs of China Cittaslow. Firstly, standardise the management of China Cittaslow. We held the 2023 China Cittaslow Coordination Meeting to convey the work trends of China Cittaslow; carried out training for Cittaslow candidate areas, and answered the misunderstandings and problems for them. The second is to guide the inspection of candidate areas. We conducted on-site visits to the candidate areas such as Luxi Township in Zhejiang Province and Jianshui in Yunnan Province, guided the creation of the city in the light of the actual situation, and provided targeted corrective and remedial suggestions. Third, assist China Cittaslow to pay the annual fee. China Cittaslow's annual fee for 2022 has been fully collected and paid to the headquarters of Cittaslow, and the annual fee for 2023 will be paid to the headquarters as soon as possible after the establishment of the representative organisation of Cittaslow in China.
3. Create a brand event for Cittaslow. Taking the concept of Cittaslow and physical fitness as an entry point, the Cittaslow Heroes--Youth Outdoor Challenge has been researched and planned, and two events have now been held in Cittaslow, encouraging young people to take the initiative in exploring nature and face the limit of fearless challenges, which have been well received by young people and parents.
Ⅱ. Excellent Practices of Cittaslow Cities in China
1. Yaxi Cittaslow
① Focusing on industry and stimulating new kinetic energy to improve quality and efficiency, economic development has become more powerful. First, the integration of culture and tourism. The Cittaslow Golden Flower Tourism Festival, the Mountain Flower Art Festival, the Ideal Life Festival, and the Cittaslow Mountain Quarter-Marathon Race have been held on a regular basis. Secondly, the development of modern agriculture has been accelerated. High-standard promotion of agricultural park project construction, new high-standard farmland more than 12,000 acres; accelerating agricultural branding, creating 4 organic certification brands, 6 green food certification brands; continue to cultivate new agricultural business subjects, built 1 provincial green high-quality rice base, the new provincial demonstration of family farms 2 households.
②Surroundings Upgrade, to create a new look of the human environment, Cittaslow view is more beautiful. First, the chaos and broken has been dressed up. The construction of rainwater and sewage diversion projects has been pushed forward in an orderly manner, 23 public toilets have been newly reconstructed, and the harmless treatment rate of domestic rubbish is 100% and the centralised treatment rate is 90%. Second, pay attentions to ecological protection. Systematic management of industrial enterprises, catering fumes, gas-related auto repair, living source boilers and other seven categories of pollution sources; to promote the ecological management of Yaxi river basin project construction, and make every effort to ensure that Yaxi River, Xuhe River, National Surface Water Assessment Sections stably meeting the national standards.
③Focusing on people's livelihoods, playing a new melody of Yaxi livelihoods, people's lives are better. First, public services continue to improve. Disbursement of assistance to recipients of various types of subsidies, including low income and other subsidies; refinement of the work of comprehensive governance, people's services, comprehensive law enforcement and other 72 social governance matters. Second, the optimising and improvement of livelihood facilities. It has built 35.65 kilometers of boulevards, upgraded 65.4 kilometers of rural roads; achieved full coverage of home-based pension service centers, created 31 provincial-level demonstrative good-neighbourhood points, one 5A-grade home care centre and six 3A-grade home care centre have been built, and the coverage rate of privatised home-based pension service centres reached 100%.
2.Jingyang Cittaslow
Holding Cittaslow-themed cultural tourism activities. The 7th Jingde Ganoderma Culture and Tourism Festival and Xuanyan Culture and Art Festival, "7 Days of Anhui Star" 2023 Jingde Art Teal Mountain Carnival, Cittaslow Lantern Festival riddles, Cittaslow Cross-country Vehicle Exchange Match, Cittaslow Jingyang Basketball Match, and Cittaslow Folk Songs Gala are held.
3. Zigang Cittaslow
Actively carry out tournament activities. It has held more than 40 large-scale events such as the 2023 China Mountain Bike Open (Zhejiang-Changshan Station) and the National Youth U Series Mountain Bike Championships, the 2023 Zhejiang Dragon Boat Open (Zhejiang-Changshan Station), and the Zhejiang Open Cricket Championships, which have injected new kinetic energy into the high-quality development of Changshan's economy and society.
4. Luzhi Cittaslow
①Passing on and utilising traditional culture. Many regular folk activities are provided to make it easy for visitors to learn about local cultural life, such as trying on women's costumes in the Luzhi Water Town in Suzhou, a national intangible cultural heritage, and teaching and interacting in the Luzhi Lianchang, an intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu Province. There are also various large-scale festivals such as the New Year's Prayer Festival, the Vegetable Blossom Festival, and the Slow Life Festival.
②Establishment of the Luzhi Slow Food Committee. Combined with the agricultural park's lodging (farmhouse), a slow food committee with the characteristics of Chenghu Agricultural Park has been established.
③Expanding the slow walking system. We are gradually building a leisure and tourism slow-moving system of "water slow-moving routes", "slow-moving routes along rivers and waterfronts" and "land slow-moving routes" with unique water town characteristics.
5.Songbai Cittaslow
To give full play to the advantages of the industry, and to realise wealth and increase the income of the people. First, agriculture. 6. Erdaobaihe Cittaslow
① Vigorously develop a slow-moving lifestyle. In the urban landscape to open up the woodland - waterfront - wetlands and other landscape panels of the connection, build a green vein blue corridor of the slow ecological pattern, the launch of the mountain, water, forest, flowers, snow, the ancient city and other characteristics of the slow travel area. It has successively implemented the Slow Walking System 1.0 and 2.0 projects, constructed and renovated 87 kilometres of two-way Slow Walking Greenway (Walking Trestle + Bicycle Path), built 365 kilometres of Bicycle Loop Road, set up 57 Bicycle Service Stations and Bicycle Interchange Stations, and put into operation a total of more than 1,800 bicycles (including 200 electric assisted bicycles), which is convenient for the life of the residents, and also convenient for the tourists to experience the beautiful Ecology and slow lifestyle.
②Continuously expanding the experience of slow leisure and slow tourism. In the mode of culture, recreation and sports, Changbaishan Snow Culture Festival, Secret Changbaishan International Performing Arts Show, Changbaishan National Jogging, Forest Bicycle Ride around Changbaishan, Taijiquan (Taiji Sword) Exhibition and other activities have been held continuously, and Changbaishan's "Powder Snow Base Skiing - Transformation and Upgrading of Ice and Snow Leisure and Vacation" was awarded the First International Leisure and Tourism Award.
7.Yingpan Cittaslow
①Insist on good resource protection. Through WeChat, Tiktok and other new media to increase publicity, planning and organising "I add new green for Qinling Mountains" tree planting and "individual, team" adoption and other related ecological theme activities, so that more people participate in the protection of Qinling Mountains.
②Rich and colourful festivals.More than 30 activities were successfully held, such as "Living in Qinling Mountains - Natural Oxygen Bar" Niubei Liang National Tourism Resort and "Blossoming Shangluo - Recreation Zhashui" Promotion Conference, "Promoting Xiaoyi Culture, Creating Recreation Capital", "Opening of Xiaoyi Cultural Experience Park in Zhashui County and Opening of "Xiaoyi Cultural Tourism Festival", and so on.
③Brand building was recognised at a high level. Zhujiawan Village in Yingpan Town was included in the list of traditional villages in China by the General Office of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Zhujiawan Village was selected to be on the list of "Best Tourist Villages" of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation in 2023.
